And the winner is....

Eileen!  Thank you for your lovely comment.  PM me on Facebook please with your address and I'll send a doll to you with love xxx

A Taste of the Orient

As promised, I'm doing another little giveaway tonight.  Instead of a card, I thought I'd do something a bit different.  I love the Oriental genre in cardmaking, especially as I get to indulge in some origami.  Here are some of the origami dolls I make.  They're made with authentic, handmade Japanese papers which have a rich, fabric-like texture and each colour and the gold are laid by hand.

I sell some just as beautiful bookmarks or objects d'art, but I also like to use them as embellishments on my cards too.  By leaving a gap in the adhesion on the picture, I can attach the doll using a plastic coated paper clip and then the receiver gets a gift as well as a card!

So, whether you'd just like a beautiful, unique bookmark or you want something to add to your card, follow this page and leave a comment and one of these dolls could be winging it's way to you this week!  At 10 o'clock tonight I'm going to put the names of all those who have taken part into a hat and pick one out at random.  Check back later to see if it's you!

Winnings

The winners' cards were posted this afternoon.  I hope you like them and thanks again for your support and for taking part.  I'm hoping to do another little competition next week for something a bit different.

First Post!

First blog, first post!  A bit daunting but let's start with a card from the vaults to give you an idea of what I'm about.

This card was inspired by a collage technique in Barbara Gray's book on stamping.  I used Creative Expressions stamps & a single Distress ink pad.  I love the versatility these fabulous inks give.  Some masking tape, a waterbrush & trusty cut 'n' dry foam & you get this! Hope you like it.
